Measure Seeks to Cut Planned Parenthood

Nashville, TN – Tennessee State Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey and several other Republican lawmakers are once again proposing legislation to cut off funding to Planned Parenthood. The proposed measure would require the state Health Department to try to award contracts to public health clinics before seeking out private entities such as Planned Parenthood, which supports abortion.

Henry County High School teacher arrested

Paris, TN – Police arrested a Henry County High School English teacher yesterday for having sexual contact with a student. The Henry County Sheriff's Office charged Sandra Curtis with three counts of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure and three counts of Aggravated Statutory Rape. The arrest was made after police conducted a month-long investigation into accusations against Curtis for have an inappropriate relationship with a 16 year-old male student. She will appear in General Sessions Court on May 19th.

Pella Corporation looks for new employees

Murray, KY – While many businesses are downsizing, Pella Corporation is looking to fill new full-time manufacturing positions at its Murray plant. Spokeswoman Kathy Harkema says the company will begin producing a new line of Pella Impervia casement windows in May and will need 20 workers to operate the assembly lines. Those interested can find applications online at pella.com/careers.
