LBL spots open

Murray, KY – Twelve spots stand empty on Land Between the Lakes advisory board. LBL announced this week 12 of the board members will end their five-year term this Spring. Of the total 17 member board, 10 come from Kentucky and 7 from Tennessee. Various state and local officials appoint the members. Once appointed, the 12 new board members begin their duties next Fall.

Arson Ruled Out in Church Fire

Clinton, KY – Investigators have ruled out arson as the cause of a fire that destroyed a western Kentucky church. The Baltimore Missionary Baptist Church, located about 10 miles southwest of Mayfield, burned to the ground February 5. Kentucky Chief Deputy Fire Marshall Alan Gregory tells The Paducah Sun the building had been reduced to ashes before the fire was noticed in the early morning.

Another Suspect Arrested in Amish and Mennonite Burglaries

Pembroke, KY – Kentucky State Police investigators have made another arrest in connection to a series of burglaries in the Amish and Mennonite communities in Christian and Todd counties. Police arrested a juvenile last night and charged him with robbery and burglary. This makes the fourth juvenile charged in the case. An adult, 18-year-old Levell Washington of Cerulean, also faces charges. All remain in custody. The investigation is ongoing.

Dunn attended educational sessions, enjoyed Sarah Palin's speech and even obliged an interview from a Swedish reporter. Murray Anesthetist Recounts Haiti Aid Trip

Murray, KY – People around the world are continuing to volunteer in Haiti. Murray is no different. We first told you about two members of the Murray-Calloway County Hospital team who left within weeks after the quake. Anesthetist Ernest Ayo and Surgical Tech Cindy Ivey worked 13-hour days for nearly a week out of a small clinic in Jacmel just south of Port-au-Prince. They returned last week. Chris Taylor speaks with Ayo about his experiences there.

Murray, KY – A shocking new report released by The National Disability Rights Network suggests abusive use of seclusion and restraint on school children and a lack of state and federal regulation governing such practices.
