Western Ky. Judge-Executives Seek to Delay Barkley Dam Restrictions

Lyon and Livingston County's judge-executives are seeking federal support to halt planned boating and swimming restrictions above and below Barkley Dam.

The Army Corps of Engineers announced they planned to put in 24-7 restrictions about 700 feet downstream and 400 feet upstream of the dam because the area poses a danger to the public.

Bridge Lane Restriction Lifted Temporarily

A lane restriction on a Ledbetter bridge undergoing repairs is being lifted for a day and a half starting Friday. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the lane restriction on the U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge that connects McCracken County to Livingston County will be lifted beginning this afternoon and is expected to return early Sunday.

Livingston Co. Clerk's Audit Notes One Non-Compliance Violation

The Kentucky auditor’s office noted one violation in its report on the Livingston County Clerk’s 2011 financial statement. The auditor’s office found the county clerk bookkeeper controlled all the financial records without a second person reviewing them.

Barge Salvage Work Continues
