There’s A Pirates v. Ninjas Fun Walk/Run and Chili Challenge at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park on September 28th. It raises funds for CASA’s safe placement of abused and neglected children in Calloway and Marshall Counties. Pick a side: Pirate or Ninja, dress up the family and have a good time for a good cause. Registration for the Fun Walk and Run begins at 9:30 am at Kentucky Dam Village Beach Parking Lot ($8 for individuals in advance, $10 at event. Groups of 4 or more - call 270-761-0164 for discount). The Walk/Run begins at 10:30 am, with prizes for best costumes. Volunteers observe children first hand and report back to the court to help judges make the best decision in family court cases. Kentucky has 2o CASA programs. In 2010, they served a little over 2,000 children.
