USPS en Rural Post Offices to Reduce Hours in 2013 <p></p><p>The United Postal Service will reduce hours at more than 25 rural post offices in western Kentucky next year. Nationally, the USPS proposes reducing hours at 13,000 post offices to help save money. United States Postal Service Spokesperson David Walton says the two-year plan to reduce hours is an alternative to closing small branches. He says,</p><p><em>“We look at it as a win-win situation. This time the post office is at a popular gathering spot in the small farming community. The Kirksey Store is now a new Village Post Office, with the new mailboxes located in the back of the store.
