Beshear has been rumored as a potential candidate during the past few months.</p><p>MSU is in the process of hiring a search firm to compile and filter candidates for the job. MSU hopes to hire a new president in spring 2014.&nbsp; Governor Beshear is in his second term which ends in 2015. The job would’ve offered Beshear a chance to boost his state retirement benefits. Board Chairman Dr. Constantine Curris says this is the first comprehensive review of any President in the history of the University. He says a new policy the board adopted requires the evaluation after five years with the University. It entails meetings with various university stakeholders including faculty, staff, students and community leaders. The Racers failed to mount a last second comeback and ultimately lost 72 to 68.
