Lexington, KY – A consortium of government agencies, utilities and research groups will try to find cost-effective technologies to reduce and manage carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants. The University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research pulled together the partners, who are expected to spend $24 million over 10 years to support research. Five Kentucky utilities will contribute to the program. State government will kick in matching funds of up to $1 million a year.

Paducah, KY – WKMS Community Correspondents Nevada Kennedy and J.J. Leatherman have spent the last few days on the ground at the 25th annual American Quilter's Society's show and contest. They put together this audio post card.
